Treasury/Payment Operations Manager (HK$35K - $45K) (Ref. No.: 27842)
Our client, a Financial Institution, is looking for high-caliber person to fill the position.
Job Duties
- Execute payment instructions for multiple client Hong Kong and offshore company bank accounts, based on client written instructions and internal approvals: prepare e-banking payment orders and follow through to release and execution; monitor balances and incoming funds, initiate fund transfers as per client requests, and resolve returned or rejected payments with the bank - all with zero tolerance for error.
- Regularly export and pre-classify bank transactions, maintain ledgers and reconcile statements, providing traceable records for client review, bookkeeping and annual audit.
- Check contracts, invoices and approvals before each payment; where documentation is incomplete or a transaction raises sanctions or money-laundering concerns, explain the situation clearly to the client and work with compliance and other teams on the follow-up
- Handle day-to-day bank liaison, including account opening, information updates and changes of signatories and e-banking rights; work with relationship managers teams and keep client directors and finance heads informed on fund arrangements and account usage.
- Review operating data and recurring issues, build up account registers, authority listings and operating manuals, drive standardisation and digitalisation of the payment workflow, and steadily increase the number of clients and accounts one person can handle.
Job Requirements
- At least 3 years in a cashier or treasury operations role, familiar with Hong Kong banking settlement, fund transfers and cross-border payments, and experienced in account opening and maintenance; experience in handling payments and account operations for multiple entities and accounts in parallel preferred.
- Comfortable dealing with clients, able to explain authority arrangements, payment status and the reasons for holding a transaction, and manage expectations well.
- Works strictly within authority, meticulous, and able to run many client accounts in parallel without mixing them up; sound AML and sanctions awareness, and discreet with confidential information; experience driving process or tooling improvements is a plus.
- Fluent written and spoken Chinese and English, including Putonghua, immediate availability highly preferred.
